Root Canal Therapy (RCT)
- A more radical treatment to decayed teeth is RCT. Root canal therapy is necessary when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. In order to save the tooth for its function of chewing or aesthetics, the pulp which is the living tissue inside the tooth (nerves, vessels) affected by decay and infection is removed and the canal/space filled with special, medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.
- RCT is a precise procedure that require careful handling, since it is the base for any type of restoration such as Fillings or Crowns.
